Hendrik Moulds wrote:I know what people are saying about the lack of cars and displays, but for me that's not and never has been the point of going. It must also be incredibly difficult to persuade people to bring their race cars too.

For me it's meeting the people (even you Jason) and if it costs £25 and a four hour drive each way for that then I'm in every time.
This year was one of my favourites as on top of meeting lots of people I got to buy a load of PreA parts, a first in the 8 times I've done it. :)
Was that from Robin (faded yellow preA)? I only saw him just before we about to leave and only had a brief chat, but he mentioned he had emptied somebody's pockets :)

I always find it a bit empty - missing soul. Similarly though it's great to see my mates (though had to leave early) and I'll probably go next year

To paraphrase woody Allen - sex with someone you don't love is an empty and meaningless act. But as empty and meaningless acts go, it's one of the best

If they had a decent auto jumble I'd be interested

Sladey- I said hello briefly as you pulled in.
Spent the rest of the day trying to find you again to ask where you had got the champion/hot rod sticker from?

It's a lovely setting, the cars are all great and a UK record for blue 914s! The parade was a bit lack lustre and the Auction tent spoilt the feel of the top lawn although by pushing all the trade to the bottom made it feel busier trade wise.
Makes a lovely change that an event isn't spoilt by fairground rides, unrelated tat for sale and horse-meat burger vans
Will happily go next year.

Hi Clive sorry you couldn't find me

I've had a look in my emails and found the receipt from the sticker - however the eBay listing is no longer there. I found the eBay shop and their website

This one is similar but related to rat rods

http://www.autotattoo.com.au/product/ra ... l-sticker/

I've been through 20 pages on the site and can't find it

If you do find it please let me know as when I polish my paint I'll have to replace the sticker

Thanks for the comments

Here is a video as well : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlD13eeLxp8

I think that the auction added something a bit different to the event, autojumble would be good. I was suprised the area around the castle wasn't used a little more only seemed to be one 997 C4S parked around the other side yet the year before there were cars all the way round as i recall.

I did wonder what that 997 C4 was doing there. It contained an elderly couple who appeared to be picnicking, seemingly oblivious to all that was happening around them. :)
