Alfa GT Junior
I am looking at buying at 1972 GT Junior. Car looks to be in good condition, just waiting on an inspection being carried out. It was originally a 1300 but has had a 1600 engine slotted in during the 80's.
Does anyone on here run 105 Alfa?
Keen to here more of ownership and traits of the car from a person who also knows early 911's and can make comparisons of the cars.

Having had every version from a '67 Sprint to a '75 2000GTV (fourteen in total!), and currently buying back an old '71 2000GTV from a friend I sold it to ten years ago, I feel fairly well qualified to opine
Back in the 80's when you could pick up a half-decent runner for £1500 quid, I used to run them for six months, tidy them up a bit then flog them off. Great, free, cool motoring. Thems were the days!
Mercifully time has now meant that all the truly rotten old dogs have been broken up. That and the fact parts availability is soo much better than it used to be, has firmed up the market incredibly.
No need for me to state the obvious, but tin-worm is their worst enemy, around both screens, front radiator mount, boot floors, three-part sills, jacking points, front floors, bottoms of wings, bottoms of doors, and both valances. But apart from those areas, should be fine
Mechanicals are pretty much bullet proof, apart from syncros on 'box.
Absolute hoot to drive like a loon, and the great thing is that you feel like you're going 100 miles an hour (and speedo will probably be wobbling around that), but you'll be nowhere near the speed limit!
They're nowhere near as quick as contemporary 911's.
Oh, and they're one of the prettiest cars EVER made. I guarantee, every time you park it up and walk away, you'll sneak a look back and smile

I've just bought a RHD 67 GTV - 2 owner 67,000 mile car with loads of history. First non German car I've owned in 20 years!

Stuarts, thanks for the message.
I paid a deposit yesterday and I am now trying to organise an inspection, if the car is sound its coming home. Its totally new to me, I have been looking and reading about them for the last year on and off. I love the styling and recently sat in a 2000 GTV that was having some work done at the bodyshop I use.

The car in the pictures is owned by a guy in his late 60's, he has had the car since new and just had the full body tidied up and resprayed. Love it. Really lovely car. The detail inside is stunning with the chrome and wood. They really are lovely cars in terms of the details.

Very nice. Single headlight early juniors are my favourites, have a soft spot for them, lovely dashboards and interiors and the neat rear lights.
You may find a set of Alfaholics 14" GTA rep wheels will make the ride and feel much better.

My own is going through its MOT on Tuesday then into Alfaholics for Alfaholics Fast Road Suspension Rebuild Package – Stage 2

Picking it up Sunday (weather permitting!)
been going through the history of the car - was pleased to see that it was originally delivered through Rob Walker's garage and that it has the original PDI paperwork, log book etc...
The Alfaholics stuff is really good - funnily enough the parts guy (Jim) is a good friend of my brothers so I guess I'll be speaking to him for the few bits it needs!!
