STOLEN - 1971 2.2E - SE LONDON

Post by 23e Heure »

Sad to report another theft of an early 911, this time from Forest Hill, South East London.

It was stolen this weekend, from the owner's gated driveway.
Poor chap had only had the car 3 months, and has asked me to post here on his behalf.

It's a 1971 2.2E, LHD California car, reg EKH 485J:

Distinguishing features include: aerial hole on the front wing filled with a black rubber grommet, gold lettering on engine lid, non standard silencer, and it's in (I think) a non standard dark blue metallic.
It also has a recently retrimmed interior, w/black leather repro recaros and momo prototipo.

Any leads, PM me and I'll fwd to the owner.

That is a bit too near to home. Hopefully it turns up.

a very nice car,

I saw this parked in the city a few months back in the winter, in the pouring rain.

Was this stolen during the day off the owners drive way or overnight?

Just asking as when I use mine during the day in London, I have to street park it.

Hi all
It would appear a few cars have gone from that part of London including a 912 from Mr Bardsley , one of my customers lost a nice early MGB roadsters from Those Bill, that had a steering wheel lock, an alarm and imobiliser. I would suspect the 911 won't be seen again and might well be rung or broken maybe cctv may put off potential thieves if left parked up on a drive.

All very sad, I hope the owner at least gets paid out a fair compensation. And a reminder to to get an up to date valuation promptly into the insurance company, mine won't even consider ungaraged whilst at home. This is one consequence of soaring values and open European borders and let's hope the car isn't broken up and lost for ever. Depressing for anyone contemplating another European road trip. :angryfire:
