Really neat and well executed solution to the rain ingress problem, as Olly pointed out probably the best option that would be on the market, maybe a punt on eBay would generate some interest. Provides an all year round drivable option.

One of the reasons I went for the hardtop is to provide the option to drive all year round and never considered using a soft top. My original concerns regarding the soft top hood was condensation forming on the inside and dripping all over the interior. I had the same problem with my Wizard-Roadster years ago. Always seemed to be raining!

Your solution provides a solution to both hard top and soft top use, I have always wanted to drive my replica more regularly than my 356A Coupe. The value on the Coupe just means I am very careful where I drive, which means its stuck in the garage most of the time.

To be honest not pushed this to sell. Was merely finding a solution to a problem l wasn't happy with. Could have my arm twisted though

Funny cos the first thing the Ddk guys asked me on the first pit-stop (cafe in the woods) on the wet Thursday morning was "how wet am l" dry my reply.

Even the Tonneau cover did me proud. Had this fitted on the Saturday when parked up all day. We had some rain in the afternoon but we had a real heavy shower in the evening. I was expecting the car to be flooded in the front floor wells when l got back. It was parked on a incline facing down, to my surprise it was dry in the cockpit area.

I'm sure something could be sorted. Take it you want wind-up Windows to use with a soft-top as well as your hard-top?

Not much activity on here so thought I'd put this up.

So with the winter on it way, the roof is up so needed to find a place to store the tonneau cover until the better weather. With an extra hour this morning as the clocks went back, got the trusty old sewer out and made a custom fit bag to store it. Had a Porsche badge knocking round the garage for the passed how many years?, so put it to good use.

Smart - obviously got too much time on your hands - you need a few more kids

Update on the posts I'd started awhile back.

After figuring out how l was going to finish the inside aswell as the top of the posts. This is what I've decided on, here's a picture of the inside, top and outside of the posts back from the welder.



Just need to do some carefull grinding etc now. Not sure on how to finish them yet, polish up or a fine sand finish (Matt).

Looking good. Have you thought of a silver anodise? The finish is hard wearing, weather resistant and should look very period, without being bright chrome.

Greg I'll look into Anodising. If it hardens to ally in the process, think I'll go that way as the ally is soft and easily scuffs/marks.

This afternoon was spent grinding the welds down and sanding the ally through the grades. Really happy with how the top has come out.

Morning Rich, awesome ali section, top is particularly sweet!

The replacement window guys use anodise on ali all the time which certainly gives a hard wearing surface. Not sure if there is any work hardening of the ali section.
