Cheers Bert ! I'll try and get some better photos soon. Nick's got a bunch of "in progress" photos that he needs to download from various phones and cameras first.
It's all about the decals. Don't forget the decals.

So near and yet so far. Car is ready to go for its MOT, but the engine is cutting out. Nick's not been able to track down the fault, but sounds like ignition or fuel...obv.

Some more photos, this time of the rear seats. They'll need re-covering to match the fronts at some point - although I might have to sell them as a matching set with the old front seats

Also spoke to Nick Fulljames this morning and he thinks the lumpy running is most likely down to gummed up injectors as the car didn't run for over two years. He's going to put them through his ultrasonic cleaner. Fingers crossed...

ECU also sent back to manufacturer (CANEMS). It's been through all their diagnostics, and showing no fault. Likeliest candidates are still dodgy injectors, followed by loom/earth. Hoping it's the injectors !

Re: 3.2 Carrera Hotrod Backdate Frenzy
Injectors have been cleaned, serviced and tested. They're now back in the car. Still not running.
Sounds like it's going to have to go to an engine specialist. It can't be anything serious, as it was running fine prior to being removed from the car.
Really frustrating as we'd got so close. Staring to think it's going to hit the 3 year refurb point. Do I get a prize ?

Tried a different ECU or checked the crank sensors.

Re: 3.2 Carrera Hotrod Backdate Frenzy
Unfortunately, it's got a CANEMS ECU and coil pack in it so not much option for change. Nick is more accustomed to MFIs and Carbs, and even then makes no claims to be an "engine man". So...the only engine specialist I know who is intimate with that setup is Nick Fulljames.
It's almost certainly an earth problem. The ECU has been tested, the coilpacks replaced, and the injectors serviced.
Could be crank sensors, but I fitted two new ones shortly before it went into Nick (3 years ago, mind you). Possible they took a knock when the engine was out. Poor earth connection is most likely culprit when the engine's been out.

Re: 3.2 Carrera Hotrod Backdate Frenzy
Have you spoken to David at Canems. Mine would hit a harsh 'rev limiter' at anywhere between 4500 and 5500 rpm - as you say it was due to a bad earth - but linked to the messy signal that comes from the crank sensor as a result. David swapped the ECU out for a later model that was able to take this into account and all was perfect.

He's great when you can get hold of him!
I think RedTek is probably the best option right now. Difficult though as it's leaving Early911 with no MOT and no road-test / setup. I'll give Jaz a call too if Nick hasn't sent it off.
