BMW 2002ti
This Norwegian registered 2002ti competed in the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally, starting in Oslo, driven by Johan Johannessen in the Group 1 class, i.e. as a virtually standard showroom car. Over the years it was transformed into a Group 2 car
I bought this car some 3 years ago in this condition.
The engine was a genuine Alpina A2S, but belonged in a 2002 Touring, so was shipped back to its rightful home. So I had a scruffy 02 with no motor, so I do what I always do, pull it apart, then sent it to Enviro Strip

Re: BMW 2002ti
Look forward to seeing what you do. The 2002 is one of the few cars I would consider if I were to sell my 911.

Re: BMW 2002ti
There was quite a bit of welding to do, as with any 2002; new floors, hinge pillars and inner wing repairs.

love 2002's
Nick, were the flared rear arches glass & bonded over the original steel ? Just looking at the shell as it came out of the stripping process and see its got full narrow steel rear wings

Re: BMW 2002ti
The arches had been trimmed back before the GRP arches were added. The original arch lip is missing if you look carefully. We cleaned up the area a bit more before the shell went to Custom Cages for their first 2002 FIA cage. Then to Cleaning consultants for a blast before etch primerhot66 wrote:love 2002's

Where was that Vic? Ti's were not available in the UK because of the space that the steering box takes up.Slope330 wrote:i bought a road going 2002 ti in 1978.........cant have been very old .....after couple of weeks cleaning up engine compartment my finger went through inner wing , both sides the same !.....cant believe there s anything left by now !

Very nice little project Nick. "Quite a bit of welding" - like it!
Best wishes,
Sam.
