I don't know how you guys find RHD SWB cars. For years I've never seen any come up for sale.

What is the trick?

I can’t speak for others, but this is how this one happened.

Driving back from Cardiff having just bought a garden 912 that’s been resting since 2006. Spot a text off a mate while at the services- it’s actually 2 pics. A vin tag and a dash. That tells me enough, so I tell the good mate that it needs to happen. By the time I’m home, I’ve got 5 more pics, so I tell him a price, and then a total maximum price. Turns out he’s then away for 4 days so I wait.

4 days later I get a higher price back, I just say yes and bank transfer the lot. Then I wait another 4 days for it to arrive, and give my mate a set of Fuchs for his efforts.

Sort of like an online tescos shop I guess? :)

Amazing.

Do you have more pics of the car as it is now?

I’ve popped some on Instagram and fb, but nothing hosted. It’s a roller but all the usual areas are rusty- floors, sills, inners, rear arches, shelf, front pan, you know how it is

I was looking for one but ended up buying a '70 a couple of years ago. At the moment I don't have enough space for another but maybe in the future,.. who knows?

Thanks.

Robin,
looked at this again today , and realised that there is another "NI" car missing from the list ! The late Dessie Nutt's car - yes , the yellow rally car. Reg is easy to find , but not sure about chassis number. I am assuming that Michael , is now "in possession" of it , but don't actually know anything for certain !

If the car is OLC 6E then it may be a 1967? Would be very interesting to know the chassis nonetheless

The 1965 AFN Demonstrator MMU 911C - one of the very earliest RHD 911's is up for auction with an estimate of £300-£500k.

Lets hope that the new owner, if there is one, joins us here on DDK
