The real fun comes when you look at the width of arm, type of fixing nut, type and make of blade and of arm. At least our friends in the ESR have covered most of these points for us.
And whether you should use Verbus or Kamax hardware.

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
I've made some enquiries with the auction house as to its provenance - lets hope we get a reply. Initial pics show correctness except for the weber carbs, but to be honest to small and too few to see any details. Good find Phil.....pht9 wrote:looks a very early car 300882, not seen this before

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
A quick google has uncovered that this car was coverted in the late 60's from LHD to RHD, the link below shows may other photos and the cars history including many details on the conversion seeminly professionally done in Germany possibly as early as 66 or 67. While it is therefore not a "factory" RHD it isn't or doesn't seem to be trying to hide the fact that it was coverted for Australian car licensing regulations back in the day - interesting car - more details in the link below. Added to the database as a known, albeit very nice, RHD conversion.

The dash gives it away, the gauges are all in the wrong order. Where's the ignition key gone and what's the fresh air control doing on the right like that, mental!
Nice to meet on on Sunday BTW Phil!

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
AFAIK this is a genuine RHD car - on my database as the 6th oldest surviving RHD 911. Ad claims its the 2nd one into the UK, from the records I have I'd guess its the 3rd or 4th - but again stand to be corrected. Should have engine numner 902114 and orignal colour is 6404 light ivory. Seems to be the real deal - price seems strong without any info as to what restoration work has been carried out.911hillclimber wrote:I can't find the conversion details on the car above, anyone help please?
Front horn grilles missing their rubbers and RHS a poor fit, fit up of the front in general isn't perfect, other than that the car presents itself well IMO - nice patina in the interior.

LGK6D knows my opinion on this, it's a public forum so that's all I'm prepared to say. No issues with how genuine the car is.redrobin911 wrote:AFAIK this is a genuine RHD car - on my database as the 6th oldest surviving RHD 911. Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database
Early cars with 4 screw horn grills don't have a rubber, that came with the 2 screw horn grills (to take up the rock introduced on a curve with 2 screws). It should be painted satin black behind there, but nothing more. It is missing it's front over riders and the front bumper could do with some adjustment. It's all quite trivial really if we'd all like to consider how rare this car really is. It's one of only 4 cars in the UK and one of only 6 remaining worldwide. Rarer than a RHD 2.7RS and as rare as a RHD 356A Carrera.redrobin911 wrote:911hillclimber wrote:Front horn grilles missing their rubbers and RHS a poor fit, fit up of the front in general isn't perfect, other than that the car presents itself well IMO - nice patina in the interior.

I'm sensitive to anything I say on this forum!
That quote above is not from me.
I've been in trouble about grill screws recently...
Does anyone have details of the RHD conversion on the red car please?

Hands up - my comment re 4 screw horn grilles - everyday is a school day. Yes agreed its rare esp for a 65MY car - from my records only one of 7 MY65 worldwide.
