A bit more emphasis on the color of the car, the wheels and the surroundings and the attention is drawn to the car and the wheels (I think):

I think I was probably the only one who went this way - we'd had enough of motorways - it was a 2-lane stretch of dual carriageway (but a 30mph section) ...
