Good quality RS front bumper / spoiler

Post by yoda »

Hi

I would like to buy a good quality replacement 2.7 RS front bumper / spoiler. I I know there are several companies who do them but would be interested to hear of recommendations (and ones to avoid). Would like something close to original shape and good quality - I have seen ones of varying quality but don't know which ones are good.

Thanks

Feroz

Not in the UK but in the past I've bought from Roman Marquart at RSL Classic in Germany:

In the UK Dale Edmonds ...

I've just purchased front and rear bumpers from EB Motorsport. Not yet arrived, the front is an R type but can give overall opinion as to quality once they're here if that helps. Mark Bates is a nice guy to deal with.

Dale Edmonds was also recommended to me although thought I'd give EB a try as I've heard good things about them too. Does Dale have a website?

Bumpers arrived from EB Motorsport……

Image

….very efficient to deal with, well packaged and the bumpers are superb quality complete with mounting brackets…

Image

….the mods we were making to the (poor quality) RS bumper I inherited with my E were starting to look like a pigs ear and I hoped the SWB R rear bumper from EB would have been a quality alternative….

Image

…unfortunately I think I'll be sending this back though as it's very wide, I figured I'd been sent the wrong bumper but apparently not…..

Image

Dan has vouched for the fit quality of EB's bumpers for wider cars and the front bumper EB supplied fits like a glove….

….being a SWB bumper with an R flare I was expecting to have to modify and shorten the ends to match the arches however I would have thought a 911R would have been no wider than my narrow 72?

The bumper could be made to fit well but it would be a lot of work I was trying to avoid…..I guess I'm looking for something that doesn't exist….a narrow body, short horn bumper…..unless of course someone can tell me otherwise?

Cheers,

Thanks Andy….

….am I right in thinking a 911R would be the same width as a 69-73 narrow bodied car?

Same width but a swb rear bumper is longer* than a lwb bumper ...

* where it curves round to meet the rear edge of the wheelarch.

My front bumper came from Fennlane and it seemed to be good quality and a good fit
