Weltmeister Decals 69/70/71

Post by JAS 966 »

I've got a limited number of 69/70/71 Weltmeister decals now available.

Very faithfully reproduced, referenced from several original resources.

3 spot colour - black, gold and white onto transparent long life self adhesive vinyl.
If you've seen an original, you will appreciate how accurate these are, there are plenty of other reproductions out there, some even a few pounds cheaper… but if you know where to look you will soon appreciate the differences.

I do go to an awful lot of effort to get my decals as close to original as my reference material permits as my clients want 99.9% perfection - which is understandable given the value of the early cars that would have had these fitted at the time.

Note:
Old style Porsche Logotype with heavy characters and narrow counters, notably in the P & R.
'Marken Weltmeister' in correct font - not system Helvetica or Universe as per most copies!
Points of intersect on numerals of globe radials.
Correct diameter.
Ink saturation matched as best my reference allows.

I am able to offer these at £14 each posted - which when I factor in my research time, production time and production costs really is a steal.

To those of you who expressed interest in the other decals in this series - namely '69' , '69 / 70' , '72' and '72 / 73' I am getting there I promise!

Please PM me if interested.

Similarly if you have any rare or unobtainium decals you wish to reproduce as close to original as possible, I am always interested in helping out where I can.

Many thanks Rob

No doubt this is covered ad nauseum somewhere here but if I have an S built/delivered late 69 would it have had a 69 sticker?

The 1969 Weltmeister decals didn't appear on new cars until ~Feb '70 ...

I've also finished the 69/70 decals and the 72/73 decals. In production now (which is my hobby, not business) so will post when complete and ready for sale, for those of you who have mailed.
All 5 in this series will soon be available, all as absolute close to original as possible. :)

Thanks to everyone who has purchased or mailed regarding decals.

Here is a comparison between Rob's 69/70/71 Weltmeister repro versus a rather simple one:

I bought a set some months ago for my 1972 2.4 S which was undergoing a 2 yr restro at 9M Warrington. Collected the car last week and first job was to fit the decals. They are great quality and 100% correct.

Hi Rob - I think ( and hope) I just bought one of you on Ebay - are you impactcreative26 from Braintree? :)

I've got a 72 T so great to see your car majordad with one and where to put it exactly. What other stickers would the cars have had in '72?

thanks

Thanks for the positive comments guys - very much appreciated. :) I'm always grateful to you for the feed back as it helps to install confidence in other members.

And thanks for posting the piccie of one of the many reproduction decals out there that purport to be quality reproductions - hopefully you can see the difference!
I am lucky to have connections to several well known Porsche Specialists in Essex and hence I have been able to very accurately reproduce these decals from original references, fortunately some (rather beaten up!) originals still survive on RS's and the like.

This is basically a hobby for me, it started when I needed stuff for my own 356 back in the day - although I am a professional designer, the day job tends to revolve around the new car market and furniture sadly - So this help keep things interesting. You may remember the Porsche 936 Junior that made an appearance at Hedingham several years ago, it was shown alongside the Maxted Page and Prill stand, well the complete set of replacement decals on that little beast were quite an undertaking I can tell you..... !

Any way thanks again, i'm glad you're all pleased with the decals.
