A friend has a late bay with a 914 engine in, it's running the original fuel injection, I couldn't see an air flow meter so was wondering if there's another way to meter the fuel that I'm missing

914 air flow meter?

Re: 914 air flow meter?
Unless I am mistaken, if the original fuel injection system is in place there should be a MAF as well (between air intake box and throttle body). That said, mine was faulty and the fuel pump had been hard wired. Somehow it ran ok. With the replacement MAF fitted, the spring / flap now functions correctly (though the wiring still needs sorting out). Only time I have heard of non-standard FI setups is where something like a MegaSquirt engine management system has been fitted. Even then, most still use original MAF.
