Log me on automatically each visit

Post by 210bhp »

Anybody else having issues with the above function?

My login details don't seem to be 'held' for very long. Keep having to log in about every third visit.

Is this a site issue or my issue?

Regards
Mike

No problem as far as I know. Probably your browser resetting cookies rather than the site

What's the English version of that sentence/explanation?

How do I sort it?

Mike

Have you changed the way your browse the internet recently? Updated your browser or maybe elected to view 'privately'

I updated my iPhone to ios7 and tried the same with this iPad but only managed to ios6 (I think).
Since then my iPhone sometimes doesn't deliver messages and this pad won't stay logged onto Ddk but it does all the other sites I visit, hence my question to Ddk. I can't think of anything else that I've changed.

Will this update have caused the issue?

Regards
Mike

The 'remember me' function works based on cookies. I can only conclude your iPad is browsing privately or set to not store cookies

If I use AOL I am frequently thrown off. If I use Firefox - never.
There is the answer I reckon. Depends on your brower.

Go into Settings
Go into Safari
Look under Privacy and Security
It should say something like 'block cookies' this should be set to 'never'
Also there should be a setting 'Do not track' this should not be on

I'm using iOS7 with no problem remaining logged on.

Safari on my iPad is set to block 'third party and advertiser' cookies and 'Do not track' is active but mine stays logged on fine.

Could it be if folk alternate using the site on a mobile device and another computer that you can't remain logged in from more than 1 computer? I had this before on another site

Could be. Or could be an issue with caching

I use iOS7 on an iPad, and connect to DDK on a laptop and a desktop as well. I have no issues with staying logged in. On the iPad "do not track" and "block cookies" are both off.
