993 Carrera 2 1994
Taking my 993 off the road over winter for a load of servicing and maintenance work, some paint and a few mods.
I thought I'd post progress and realised I haven't got a thread of it
So.........
April 94 build date
Supplied by Porsche South Africa
'Rest of the World' spec
I'll post a few more details at some point regarding spec and history.
Supplied by a Singapore dealer and spent its first few years there before coming into the uk
Has a few mods already.....
Updated and lowered suspension
Turbo front bumper
18 inch Turbo Twists
Discreet rear spoiler and third brake light
Anyway in case anybody is interested I'll post a few updates of the work being carried out over the next few months
This is how is currently looks
And on the shot below (at the stunning North Norfolk Coastline) notice the discreet rear spoiler just above the grill with the extra brake light

I like the basket handle myself even though a lot get taken off and replaced by the high level brake light.
Which bit of the Norfolk coast as we really like the place?
Ian.

Love it. Keen to hear of progress. The discreet spoiler was more common on the targa model.
Nice car. NB looks excellent.

Looks great, did the arches require any work to clear the 996 wheels?

No, but the inner wing linings take a bit of a bashing!

Re: 993 Carrera 2 1993
Work on the updates hasn't really started apart from acquiring a few parts
However, popped it through an mot today so if there's any nice days over the Christmas break I can go for a spin
Given the miles done in the last 12 months I think I need to use it a bit more!

Re: 993 Carrera 2 1993
How embarrassing
Another year gone and I managed to achieve nothing with my refresh plans
I acquired a few parts including a new rear bumper and a new heat shield. The disintegration of the latter leading to the need for the former.
Anyway - it will be fettled next year
And it will be driven more as I can't wait a year and post another photo like this showing my pathetic usage

Re: 993 Carrera 2 1993
This year the work begins honestly....
I have a new rear bumper
A new heat shield for behind rear bumper.
I needs to get some new screen seals
then.....
Windows out (rectify small scuttle rust on front)
Fit new bumper
Full respray - there's a number of panels which need correction and it looks to make more sense to respray the whole thing.
May do a few other things. Quite fancy a set of BBS LeMans but not sure yet
Never quite sure on a narrow body 993

Re: 993 Carrera 2 1993
I do like a 993, you know. Every time I drive mine I remember how good they are. Excellent compromise.
I have a set of BBS E88s on mine:
But know what you mean about being slightly unsure: sometimes I waver and put the Cup 2's back on:
Anyway, get it sorted and on the road, use it every day.
Cheers, Richard.
