Insurance quotes

Post by swhittley »

Hello
Was just about to start looking at insurance quotes for my 356 and wondering if anyone has any strong recommendations for who to use? I've used Footman James in the past. What about club discounts? Is it worth joining Porsche Club GB to get a discount anywhere? I'm not currently a member but I am a member of the US 356 Registry.

Thanks in advance

Adrian Flux but you do get bombarded for other insurance deals of house etc. But they have always matched a best quote. Join DDK - and you'll get your club discount (and it's cheaper than PCGB)

I'd get a quote from RH:

http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/

my cover includes breakdown recovery which I used twice in the first year I had the car and the premiums didn't go up materially.

With Adrian Flux this year and should have done it years ago... multi-car discounts excellent and they are easy to deal with as long as you're happy doing your own paper work on line. They now have my moderns, classics and '72 Winnebago - undercutting the closest quote by £650 down to £144 fully comp, agreed value!

RH here too - £195 fully comp with agreed value. 30 years old with full no claims.

Big no for Adrian Flux from me but it's a relative. I got sick of the paperwork.

I wanted to insure my 356 with Hagerty's for cover whilst the car underwent restoration in my garage but they said they were unable to cover the car because I did not have another car which I used on the road. I have a Harley and a Buell motorcycle but no cars although my wife runs a new Cayenne which as it's registered and insured in her name, does not count in this instance. I thought the whole deal was a bit weird so I have since forgotten all about Hagerty.
