Great pic Mike. Lovely part of the world to drive in as well - the A339 is one of my favourites if you are there early enough.

I often meet a few guys at Loomies or Wilton House if you ever want to meet up.

Mike, thanks for coming back about the lense. I have had a go at this today with my son but all with no real success, before I crash can you tell me what shutter speed and settings did you use? My attempts are either all too bright with a slow speed to capture the movement or pin sharp, perhaps not going fast enough.

You might need to reduce your iso/asa setting (often quite high with modern sensitive sensors) to balance the exposure with a longer shutter speed if the high f-stop isn't enough.

It's a real case of trial and error, and in a situation like this where the light is constantly changing you need very good matrix metering.

This is where the camera computer is taking readings from various places around the chip and computing the best mean average. So from an exposure point of
view you'll get the best balance between the highlights and shadows, but you will still have to even it up more in photoshop/lightroom, especially on a bright day.

Then you just experiment, you can try your camera on shutter priority so you know what speed it's firing at and as you taking shots switch speeds from around a
30th up to 100th and fire the motor in bursts, the more you take the more chance you'll get it right and get a sharp one! Or try fully auto, the cameras are very
clever these days, or go 'P' for *issed and see what happens....

You see what I mean about trial and error, I'm guessing for my shot I took a hundred frames, maybe two or three usable, story of my career really.
Or you can always cheat with photoshop, or a combination of both, it what the car mags do all the time
