Looks like some nice upgrades Greg. Hope the PGO’s sort out the issues your having. Keep us all posted.

I thought I might go back and start at the accelerator cable before moving onto the new bits. I fitted a new bowden cable with rigid brackets at each end which are adjustable to tighten onto the cable. Fitted the cable inside a 8mm fuel line to give more strength and durability, Seems to work fine, appears that I have enough travel to open the butterfly valves fully. The adjustability should help.

Moved onto fitting a 1.5 ohm coil and 1.6 ohm ballast resistor to avoid voltage drops

Removed the old exhaust, some of the old studs proved difficult to remove but only one per side left so nearly there. Really don't want to break a stud in the case. Looks like may need to push and pull the headers into place to get all the bolts into place, alignment is very close but there is no tolerance. Waiting on supply of an oil line before I final fit. I with need to remove some of the body work above the exhaust tips, hopefully less than 20mm

I have installed a filter king with fuel cut-off and pressure dial. I will end up with three fuel filters to stop any crap getting into the carbs. First dry fit of the carbs, which really are extremely well made. Going to dry fit before final fit to make sure everything line up as it should. Looking good so far

Still working on fit of all the components before I start to torque everything down.

Hopefully the oil line will arrive soon so I can get the headers and exhaust fitted.

They look wonderful, nothing like a good set of trumpets!

Get some covers on those trumpets so you don't drop anything down them...dont want to end up pulling the engine for a dropped nut...

Does look good. Maybe I should have a gasket under my velocity stacks. Will you have a filter box over the stacks?

Yes, these rain hats come with the kit. You can see how crazy heavy they are. Approx 6 kg

Up and running again! Still need to tune the carbs.

Recap on the changes;
Changed the accelerator cable, better adjustment available and lighter to operate. Full operation of the butterflies
New fuel regulator with gauge and in-line fuel filters. Also added a fuel cut off valve.
46mm PMO's
New hard oil line underneath pre 74 style and new stainless line from oil thermostat to hard line
RSR style headers
GT3 style exhaust - 30mm spacers to push back preventing clash with engine
Re-programmed the 123Tune advance curve and switched off the vacuum
New coil and ballast resistor.

That looks great. How does the exhaust sound?

Mellow tune, raspy when under throttle.

Although started to run out of fuel, so never got a full chance to try it. Also not started any tuning yet.

Mrs Claus brought a very nice gift. Sparco wheel, Embossed Porsche horn button, NRG hub and quick release. The quick release should offer a level of security when we go to classic Le Mans this year.

PMO say they jet the carbs to suit the engine spec you give them.
I presume you did this?
If so, it will be interesting to see how close they end up.

On my 50mm set I found the balancing was easy to do and showed up a bad leak I had on one pot, manifold to head insulator which I was sure I didn't have.

My engine is a race only engine running full throttle 99 % of the time, so mixture is for the top end of the rpm scale. Consumption is wicked....

Who will you use for tuning?

Yep, sent the spec over to PMO, also they recommended changing the headers and exhaust to provide something more free flowing, which I have done.

I have had the engine running, waiting for my friend to find some time to connect up to his analyser.

Yesterday in the bitter cold and snow the car was taken over to my friends shop to start the tune on the engine. The engine is now running well, sounds great. It seems the clutch arms is catching on the new ss exhaust manifold, stopping it from releasing. Not sure of the answer yet, maybe some heat and a large mallet!

If you have the 3.2 release arm with Omega spring, they all hit the SSi hearter boc. Good thump!
