Just got my free tickets to this great event and paid £10 to do the 911 parade.
Always wanted to go round my fav circuit in the 911
Any other Earlies going?

I wanted to go in my 914 but I don't know how to sort it.... Not sure it would fit in.....I only just realised they were looking for cars for display etc.

A few dodgy pictures from today's paddock at the Oulton Gold Cup
The Historic Sports Championship Race had 4 911s in it - Jasons 911E - very blurry pic
John Shaw's 911E also in tangerine , pictured with Rob Russell's 911 - the ex Vic Elford car
And finally the Porsche Cars GB 911 50th anniversary car driven by Richard Bott , which was the class winner

Re: Oulton Park Gold Cup?
A slightly clearer picture of Jason's 911
I've a few more to follow from the day once I'm done fliddling with them. A great day out!
(particularly the "wall of death" How good was that! )

Re: Oulton Park Gold Cup?
A good day out and some great racecars and races.
The parade lap was cut short due to some looning about on track I was told, but we did a lap.
That track is a very nice layout and a million times better than the vast Silverstone.
Must have been about 8 earlies on the lap. The Club area was well laid-out as we got on track in chronological order, Earlies, then Impacts then etc etc.
Got to meet a few DDK'ers which was good, faces to 'names'.
Great pics as ever Gary. My humble 80mm lens just will not get close enough.
Quite a few 911's out there being hassled by MGB's elans and the odd E Type.
Same as my Lola T 492 but an original one:
That's as tight in as i can get with 80mm and no post editing..

Re: Oulton Park Gold Cup?
You need to stand a bit closer to the track Graham I'm only using a 70mm lens and you can get the cars pretty much full frame on the exit of Old Hall.
Lovely Sierra Cosworth before it was speared by a spinning 406:
Unfortunately it refused to flame from the exhaust when I pointed a camera at it!
Two of the other 911s in the field:
A couple of pretty E Types:

Re: Oulton Park Gold Cup?
'Gary' pictures indeed.
Gary;
What were your camera settings?
I tried 400 ASA/2000 sec/ F whatever the camera worked out, about F 8 in the sun iirc.
Fast moving scene selected. Point of shutter release pre-selected as usual.
