Yes a £100k price hike should mean you will keep it for many years. Good move!

I took the E into work this week to repair a small outward dent that had cracked the paint to the front wing......

Image

....and whilst we had the paint out I figured I'd sort a couple of niggles. But first to the jet wash.....

Image

....to clean my body colour under arches  ...

Image

....road grime came off first to reveal the protective wax coating, although there was no real need this was also removed and underneath all looked as good as new...

Image

...first niggle was to sort the lines of the underseal which I hadn't got correct on the arches and also to the sills which I had initially thought I'd leave without covers....

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

....second niggle was to apply some proper protection to where the sills covers were screwed to the body....

Image

Image

...only downside to correcting my arches is that I lost my paint run! - I loved the story David Conklin once told of finding an original factory paint run on the 700-mile 2.2S he photographed.....with this in mind we thought it would be a fun idea to leave a small innocuous run on every early 911 we've painted since.....although don't think our customers have noticed! ....

Image

...once complete sills were repainted black, the black paint never survives a jet wash!, followed by a thorough coating of wax (this dries pretty clear)...

Image

Image

....finally I decided to fit my winter wheels and tyres in the hope of a little snow....

Image

....and thought I'd also go with a change of steering wheel 8) .....

Image

....wing now as good as new and arches/sill factory correct....

Image

Image

.....let the winter do its worst.......I'm still driving! :)

....cheers Feroz, I actually resisted any temptation to paint the chips on my bumber/bonnet as they add charcter.......only the essentials for now.

Thanks Mike, we opt for Teroson products which are great quality - the underbody is Teroson R2000 HS.... http://www.loctite.co.uk/loctite-4087.h ... 2620047361 .... the wax is also Teroson, I'll confirm which one soon.

When that car is your winter hack, you have definitely got the right idea. And a pretty epic summer car.

had my 911T on Cookies at the 'start' and regret selling them to a Campervan guy way back.
Under-rated looking wheel imho.

There's a bloke on here who has just sold his Ferrari and is looking for a 12 months use 911, this one seems ideal...

....I appreciate the thought although it's not for sale......and anyway, judging by the criteria this car is far too average and 'normal' to be an option!

Sorry Mike forgot to confirm.......although we have used Teroson wax in the past (I noticed Paul has been pumping it into his car!) on mine it's regular Waxoyl....Rich's favourite!
