.

The car has turned out great Dave (no surprise there) - looking forward to seeing it in the flesh sometime.

Hope the shoulder damage mends quickly.

A long road Dave but the result is worth it. Great research, great detail. Enjoy the ride.

Just noticed you have fibreglass front wings.....do you wish you'd done them correctly in steel?

what this thread really needs is some driving experiences!!

Lovely finished product. I have always been a minilite fan (got them on my Tiger and came close to putting them on the Healey) and the rear minilite 911 look is one of my favourites....

So have I. Right from the days of being a teenager sitting on the wall outside the Dunadry Inn, where the works Minis and Escort Mk1's were lined up before the start of the Circuit of Ireland. I've always wanted a car on Minilites, haven't managed it yet, but I have a cunning plan! 8)

With shoulder recovered enough to change gear, i managed to do an 85 mile round trip yesterday.
In reply to Andy's question.... First impressions.

Starts first time when i open the fuel enrichment fully on the MFI pump. Once she's had a drink i can back the fuel off to normal and she holds idle.

Car drive's very nicely with no popping or banging and idle's nicely without any hunting. There is a slight hesitation on acceleration in 2nd gear which is probably due to fuelling... i was warned this would take some trial and error tweaking.

The cockpit noise is tolerable even at 80-90 MPH. I think i made the right choice with the Dansk RSR muffler that is fitted, pure fluke that one.

Still getting to know the dogleg 1st gear which will take some time. Scheel 300 seats are super comfy and any of my mates bigger than me won't be a passenger...!

Still have a charging issue, but i am pretty certain a solid state regulator will sort this out.
All in all i am very happy, although it's early day's.

Dave

That's great news Dave, sound's like the car is going really well for a new build.

Daft question - have you not painted the lower part of the car yet? Looks like it is in black primer?
