Re: "Le Belgique" ST build.
Thanks for the positive comments, much appreciated. Yes, very satisfying Jon. I was certainly no natural at this but persistence is the name of the game. Some of the metalwork on show in these DDK resto threads is a great motivator to anyone who wants to do there own car. What's the worst that can happen ? Garry, forgot to mention, I know nothing about plastering mate
Darren, many thanks for collecting my 100 litre steel tank from Germany. It was very much appreciated.
Now, I wonder if the Polish lord Lucan "Marek " has sent our breather pipes yet .? Not visible on the Waldergard tank photo but, we need to find the correct strap for this tank. After making belts and carpets I think you need to step up to the plate Gooner !
And a thanks is also due to Gary for the Black Spare tyre strap. Cheers.
One other little item that I would like to find is this Aeroquip plastic oil cap. If any of the older folk have one kicking around in the clutter draw, I would be a very happy buyer.
Tempted.

Re: "Le Belgique" ST build.
Ok, I didn't know he made these. I see the welded brackets on his site now. If he can supply the strap with the correct ends that will be another job sorted.

His brackets, studs and fixings are exactly as per your photos….I plan to visit him in the next 3-4 weeks and collect a set for you if that helps?

Re: "Le Belgique" ST build.
Blimey.! can't believe it has been nearly 5 months since my last update.
Apologies for the heavy picture content, but i like to try and keep a record of works done before i forget. And bodywork threads are my favourites on DDK.
Finished off the A post base. Cut out and replace "jack attack" from the rear chassis leg. Why do people jack up on this section. Make up the section behind the jack plate. A good coat of Jotal epoxy mastic behind the inner sill and this is as far as i go at the moment.
The nearside was a simliar affair with tinworm to the A- area inner wing base and post base. Seat support and jack attack to the rear chassis leg.
A few jobs finished in the Cab. Install FIA surface mounted harness mounts to the sill and tunnel. Repair inner sections of seat mount bases and install the dead pedal. Measurements taken from the TDF Larousse car. Thanks Kevin.
A little repair to the front inner, but had an earth problem with the welder. Failed to complete the repair before the Badger contingent arrived for the big lift onto the jig. A big milestone. Thanks Badgers. Much appreciated.

Still need to install a few more fixtures, but early indications are pretty good. Front is out on the rear mount by about 2mm. Shock mounts and front tank supports are dead straight and i remember dragging the shell onto the flatbed with the bolts in these rear mounts when i bought this shell. So not too concerned. Rear end is also in good shape. Pretty pleased and a real milestone for me.
Engine works are underway.
Onwards and upwards.!

Great milestone to reach, well done Dave.
