Homeward bound

Post by H120 »

Hello all, joined this here board as we are likely moving back to Scotland from the U.S. this summer. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and hopefully making some new friends on the way.

We are just beginning to plan for the move and have a lot to sort out so I’ll likely have loads of questions about importing our cars, parts and other stuff. The catch-22 is: I might have to sell everything so I can afford a place with enough space to keep it(!)

Anyhow, I’ll post up a photo or two once I find myself a ‘host’

Cheers for now,
Stuart

Hi Stuart

Welcome to DDK, I hope you find it a cool place to hang out.

Where in Scotland are you moving too?

Kind regards.

Hello, thanks for the (very quick) welcome! We are moving to Aberdeen, or I hope, somewhere west of Aberdeen. I'm from Ayrshire and am excited about being several thousand miles closer to home.

Yep, I'm a Geojollyist. I just took a look at your resto thread, your car looks fantastic. I have a 71E in Bahia red. I love it, just hope I can keep it.

Hey Stuart, welcome

Whereabouts in Ayrshire are you from? I live on the coast and there are a few other DDKers here but not many. One or two in rural Aberdeenshire too. I have a couple of friends (non-porschephiles) who have just put their Ayrshire house up for sale and are moving to Ballater. He is also in the offshore industry.

Any pics of your car? Bahia red is a great colour!

Regards
Mike

Hello Mike,

I discovered DDK via your posts on Pelican!

I'm from Stewarton, know it? Where abouts are you?

I had to compress this photo a lot to attach it, sorry

Hi Stuart

I was at friends in Stewarton last Friday night, Lainshaw Estate!
I live in Maidens.

Your car is looking superb. Bahia red is another of my favourite colours.
Sure hope you can bring it back with you.

Regards
Mike

Thanks John!

Mike, it's a small world: I used to spend my summer weekends at Croy Bay.

I really hope it can come with me too. I've had it a few years, if I sell I'll not likely be able to afford the 'entry fee' to such a nice one again.

Welcome to DDK Stuart. I have no connection to Scotland, apart from being a Mitchell

Your 911 looks great in the sunshine. Enjoy the forum!

Thanks to everyone for the comments and the warm welcome.

I'll be taking part in what's likely to be my last 'local' Porsche get-together this weekend:
