Looks like a nice car (obvious error aside).

Does look to be a nice car.
But "same engine as 1973 RS" is quite a bold claim when it's actually "nothing at all like the same engine as 1973 RS". :)
A fair bit not quite right in the interior too.
Worth putting up on a ramp though, if it is rust free....

Looks very nice in GP white but a "very" strong price for a 2.7s Lux or whatever.

"Essentially a 1973 model"

Must be worth £80K then.

"same engine as 1973 RS"

Must be worth £200K then

73RS and 74 Carrera are both MFI motors (911/83), 2.7 base and S, Carrera 3.0 and SC are CIS (Continuous Injection System) motors. All the 2.7 motors use the same 7R cases and crankshaft, but the barrels, piston, heads, cams and induction are unique to the 911/83 motors.

Thanks Nick

So the 73 RS and the 74 Carrera motors are the same ?

My 2.4 has CIS and 7R cases so presumably similar to the 74 S ?

Simple ?? :)

Cheers

Another cheap motor from The School Garage. I thought the purpose of a Garage was to sell cars, not overprice and probably stockpile them :-)

That's right, there is also a suggestion from the factory that the best engines and gearboxes were held back for the 74 cars, which might explain why the 74s are a bit faster and preferred by the connoisseur.

We have a RHD 74 Carrera in at the moment and the motor is as per any 73 RS we have had. We also have a 74 911 plus a 76 S so if close Steve you are welcome to come and see the differences yourself.

Thanks
Alan
