Porsche Photography Project

Post by jrampton »

Hi all,

I've just been recommended this site as a good source for classic Porsche's so decided to sign up and let you know about my photography project.

I've been into car photography for a few years now and always had a love of Porsche's my poster car as a child was a framed print of a guards red 911 Turbo. I had taken a few Porsche photos and thought that it would be a good (mad) idea to try and photograph every Porsche. So i've started... 45 cars in now but i have so far calculated that i have about another 149 to go providing that i have got the models correct. So that i don't go completely mental i've decided to keep it to road cars although i have had an offer to shoot a 964 Cup car so i can't say no :)

So i have a few of the modern cars but i am really lacking the classic models at the moment which is where i am hoping that you guys can help out.

I'm doing the photos for Free. You get the edited images so that you can display them, use them as wallpapers etc. I'm trying to do these shoots as local to me as possible as its self funded so need to try and limit my costs, i am based in Yateley, Hampshire GU46 but i'm happy to drive maybe an hour in any direction.

Any questions ? PM me, reply or email me : johnrampton @ gmail.com

Edit: Flickr has mucked up the links and i don't remember what was posted here so here are some images:

Nice idea! Should be fun. I like the CS pic especially... Good luck with your project. I have a 1958 356A if you fancy doing that some time - not as tidy as the other ones you've photo'd mind you

Disappointed there's no notchback coupe in your list of 356s.

Image

Mine before the resto started and a link to a website dedicated to them: http://notchbacks.org/index.php

Could supply the PreA cab and A coupe if you wish, but I am far away.....

Also you could expand the 356s to AT1 and AT2 as well as BT5 and BT6.
And don't get me started on PreAs, every model year is different.

This is great new cars to add to my list that i never knew existed :)

So a 356 notch does fit into A,B,C or just 'notch' ?

If you could email me some contact details (johnrampton @ gmail.com)Hendrick i will add you to my spreadsheet of contacts and it could be that i come up to Yorkshire one weekend next year to shoot all three if i can't find any this far south :)

Cheers,

John.

I wish I had a speedster. Maybe I missed that on your list? Its a good idea John and by the way the 1950 through to very early 1952 coupes had split front wind screens. Made them really stand out even more so today.

I've taken photos of Helen's old 356 A Police Car (cab) and her old 356 C Coupe so those are not on the list.

I thought the Speedster/Cab where one and the same ?

001 356 Pre A Coupe
002 356 Pre A Cabriolet
003 356 A Coupe
004 356 A Cabriolet
005 356 B Coupe
006 356 B Cabriolet
007 356 C Coupe
008 356 C Cabriolet
009 356 Notch Coupe

This is what i have for 356 Porsches i think i am going to be expanding this by the sounds of things :) good job i like Porsches ! lol

Feel free to make additions my list is produced using wikipedia etc so not comprehensive

Thanks,

John.

Your missing Pre A 356 Speedster, 356A Speedster and Convertible D from your 356 list, probably more. Speedsters are very different from a standard cab, as is the convertible D.
Got the 911 itch.......and the 356 itch.......and the..
