Quick update of the Rometsch build. Chassis is ready with aluminium floorpanels, body finished and the inner mould is removed. Inner wings made and the body is fixed on the chassis. Now filling and a lot of sanding and dust...:

Nice! How did you make the new face for the speedo? Is it some kind of decal?

The photo does no justice to the result Kristian. The face is printed on matt plastified paper the kind they use for expensive magazines. I did not made them. I put some two sides sticky tape on the original face and glued the new one on. Some one from the Dutch 356 speedsterforum made them for me. It's a pitty that i do not understand how photoshop works ...
The Speedo is only for MOT reason and will be changed for the rev counter.

Was wondering how you were getting on with the body mould. Good stuff. What colour you got in mind??

Color: satin light grey with the original black vertical stripe and red racing numbers.

Small update;
Body fully fixed, glued and rivited to the (sub) chassis and now busy with filler, sanding and lots of dust ... and in between some technical jobs. Made the wiring loom in the front of the car, headlight switch in the drivers foot area, dashbord, and making the alu panels for the inner room.

I did not show that here ... I made a inner mould, laminated the glassfiber on the outside and removed the inner mould. So the insite is straight and can be easily panted. Only problem ... the outside is not so straight an need some TLC (read filler and elbow energy).

I only make one so I was not keen on making a mould to produce more. I did the same fabrication with the body of my Formula Vee.

Could not find a doorlock looking a bit original and old so... used some scrap metal and an original knob to make one myself:
