I am surprised how much I missed not getting connected over these long hours!
Great it is back and solid again.
'Bostin' as they say round these Black Country parts.

Hi Bootsy,
Was it a DNS attack breaking the server? If it's of help I run the website for Nokia, so I can call on some techies to do us / you a favour if you'd like me to.
Let me know if you're interested

No, nothing to do with the DNS.murph2309 wrote:Hi Bootsy,

It was a corrupted database - the largest of the tables the forum runs which holds all of the 'post' data.
It crashed (seemed to be because of too many connections at one time)
Usually I can repair a crashed table using tools on the server but in this particular case it couldn't be repaired.
Therefore I had to retrieve the last backup of the table (which was about 20 hours before the crash) from the server and restore it, check everything etc.
Just took longer than I would have liked
Cheers for the offer.
