I have a compression tester but getting the hose and threaded attachment in place is impossible it seems, without removing tinware......
Any ideas of adaptation for using the hose type connection??

Re: Compression Testing and 914s
The two deep spark plug holes on a 1.7 can be hard to attach the compression test gauge.
This is how I do it with my tester.
Hold up the compression tester by the gauge in one hand in front of you and dangle the rubber tube, now straighten the rubber tube.
Then place the other hand around the rubber hose just below the connector, keeping it ridged, lower it onto the hole. When it touches the spark plug hole in the head, using your other hand to twist the gauge dial and if at the angle is correct it will twist in.
If you tape a couple of splints on the hose, this will also keep it ridged.

Re: Compression Testing and 914s
Might need a solid extension. Good idea about the splint but the hose starts spinning also when you try to tighten...

Re: Compression Testing and 914s
Would a short length of plastic conduit do the job of stiffening the pressure testing hose?
