Thank you everyone who supported this fund raising initiative.
All the badges are sold.
Many people have been very generous, some donated extra to the guide price, some collected by hand yet still paid carriage charges, some donated and didn't even want a badge.
Thank you all.

So, I had hoped to raise £700 or more. Each purchase ensured at least £15 went to the '£10k for 10 years' fund. But those extra contributions were also added into the mix.
And I'm delighted to confirm that we raised £930!

As a further gesture on my part I have rounded that up to a four figure sum.
I have contributed direct to the 'just giving' website.

We raised a total of £1,000!

One of my earliest paying jobs was junior photographer on the Farnham Herald, does it still exist?

Still exists (although the photography is not as good as it once was).
Old man Tindle is still alive too.
He loves veteran cars and is a big sponsor of the London to Brighton car rally.

This was about 1970, I can remember a Mr.Tindle (editor?) but he'd be long gone now, is this the son?
Don't remember the photography being that good, I was taught to always get lots of faces in so they (and their relatives) all bought a copy.
My local rag in Ireland (The Southern Star) still does the same thing!

Well done on the charity front, 930 is such a nice number, I'd really like a good LHD one.

No, still Ray Tindle. Still owns the newspaper and still alive. He's frail now but doing well.
I bought my girlfriend (now wife of 30+ years) her first car from his wife.
I'd obtained the Farnham Herald classifieds a day before the paper was published. He wanted to know how I'd stole a march. Sold us the car though.
