+£50 from the sale of bumper from Sladey.

Now this might be far too sensible from me and I do feel out of my comfort zone for it, but...

We all pretty much gift aid but as it's processed online there is a button to check that we are not receiving goods, books or services for the donation. How does this work as in effect we are receiving something and then we leave a message saying what it is (well I did) I'm no tax expert but we don't want the tax man rocking up and slapping DDK/Bootsy on the wrist with a tax bill.

Another £45 + gift aid from today's car & coffee meet in my village .. not technically a DDK event, but quite a few DDK'ers there and we were raising money for Macmillan

Thought with some recent activity it was worth an update.....

£24,578 raised by 502 supporters

Recent activity includes the excellent Chris Turner Sticker initiative, donations for parts and a donation from the DDK Dark Web crew because somebody called Adam didn't fall off his bike.

Great stuff - much appreciated

And please don't forget to add the "24 Hours for 10 for 10" funds too: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=43265

That raised an additional £4,095.27 https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/23e

... Bringing the actual total to £28,673!

I am not a huge drinker of whisky but do enjoy the occasional dram. Over the last 8 to 10 years I have started to collect reasonably good quality malts, either gifts or I will tend to buy a distillery only or a small batch release when up North or on holiday. The aim is to have a rather nice collection to pass onto either my son or daughter, they can either sell it or drink some (once they are over 40) if they acquire the taste. Pretty much the same philosophy I have with my cars.

If I am drinking then I do prefer peaty malts from Islay, with one of my favorites being Lagavulin. As part of the Islay Festival many of the distillery's release a limited edition bottle, the only problem being is you can only buy these at the distillery (or buy through a merchant at a higher price).

I was delighted to see on a Scottish DDK What's App group chat that Dougie and his wife Katie were touring round Islay. Introduction made, they kindly agreed to pick up a bottle for me and I will collect this from them this afternoon.

They have asked that instead of a handling fee I make a donation to the DDK 10K, top class suggestion. Well done.

£30 to the fund. :)
