November 2013 will see the 10th Anniversary of DDK

To mark DDK's first decade we are aiming to raise £10,000 between now and then to donate to our nominated charity http://www.macmillan.org.uk

News of initiatives will be posted within this section together with details of where to donate the money and where to see how we are doing as we strive towards the target figure.

All I ask if that if you have any ideas to help raise some funds then could you PM me with an outline of the idea and we can discuss the best way to post it.

Please donate any funds raised via http://www.justgiving.com/ddk10kfor10years

many thanks

A week into the campaign and what a first week!

We have had 6 donations over the 1st week. These range from some cash for some back seat straps, press studs and general donations.

We also had a wonderful donation of £1000 which was raised through the selling of the DDK Classic Le Mans grille badges. Paul (Ferryman) initiated this idea and my thanks go to him and all who purchased / donated.

So a week in and our running total is at £1080 - just under 11% of our target figure.

What a start!

There's already plenty of items for sale appearing with pledges of money to go to the campaign when the item sells. If you've got anything laying about and fancy selling it through DDK with some or all of the funds going to the campaign get it on the forum!

The easiest way to donate the funds is to get the person buying the item to donate directly via http://www.justgiving.com/ddk10kfor10years

You can also keep up to date with how the fund raising is going using the link above.

If you have any ideas, initiatives etc. drop me a line

Thanks

Quick update

With 14 months to go we are currently sitting at £2,323.00 raised of the £10,000.00 target. That's 28 donations and 23% achieved already. What a great start and a big thank you.

This has been fuelled by some wonderful initiatives (Chris' artwork, Paul's badges, Darren's stickers to name a few) and some generous individual donations.

Thanks one and all!

If you've got any ideas please drop me a line. If you've pledged a donation but haven't donated yet then it's easy, simply follow http://www.justgiving.com/ddk10kfor10years and click on the 'Donate' button.

I've got plenty of ideas for next year to get us to the target and I'm sure you all have too. It would be great to keep the momentum going for the rest of this year though!

Thanks

£3711 raised with another £1200 I'm aware of so once paid we're nearly half way there. Wow!

It's a poignant moment for me. An hour ago my mother called to give me the terrible news that my Uncle passed tonight. He's been in the final stages of an 11 year battle with cancer for the past few weeks. I said my goodbyes a few days ago. Thankfully he passed peacefully, at home in Doncaster with his wife, daughter, and my father and mother by his side.

The MacMillan nurses have been there over the past couple of weeks caring for him, helping the family and were there doing the same this afternoon on his final day. However small our contribution is in the big scheme of things if it helps give that support to somebody else for however long then that has to be good news.

Thanks Jason and sorry to hear your news. I'm raising a large glass of brandy to Uncle David now. A fine and good man and a clever bugger to boot. Just glad he's at peace now.
