Carfest - 25th - 26th August

Post by knobs »

Hi

Just wondered if any DDK people have got tickets to 'carfest'? I managed to get a weekend ticket :) , but they all sold out come about 9am today

Not sure how it will all go, but looks like fun, and hey - it's for charity mate.

There asking if car clubs would like to attend?!

I didn't know they were releasing tickets today until it was too late :( Sounds like a fun weekend. PCGB are going.

You need to listen to Chris Evans on Radio 2 in the morning!

.... As you know, I'm younger than you so haven't become a radio 2 listener yet ;)

Mind you, I don't really listen to the radio anyway on my daily commute

I got tickets for the whole family - VERY excited - some nice looking cars will be there , Texas, razor light, and the bootleg Beatles, and a pies versus case competition - something for all the family

I don't listen to Radio 2 of course, I'm far too young and trendy, but my mum tells me that because of the high demand Evans is now organising a 2nd event a couple of weeks later somewhere in the north.

I expressed an interest in the northen one, and asked that they actually have it in the north, not just a bit north of london.
I think tickets for the north event go on sale on Wednesday.
And if you got tickets for the southern event you can swop them for the northern one.

I've registered interest in the northern one - but I'll wait and see what bands etc are on - it might also clash with eldest daughter going to uni but we'll see

Sorry not got pics - phone ran out. I thoroughly enjoyed it - whole family went - a really nice atmosphere. It was my first festival and found it great fun. Not much in the way of porsches - all seem to have been supplied by Porscheshop.

Good fun. Highlight was singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody with about 20,000 others

I went on Sunday, expecting long queues, and drove straight off the A303 into the show without stopping. A brilliant event overall, loads for kids to do (not that it affected me), some lovely cars and good food. The locals are up in arms now, which is a shame.
