this week I will mostly be listening to.. (a music post)

Post by smallspeed »

Did this on another forum years ago and it proved popular and more importantly gave everyone some great ideas of what else they might like to listen to or try out. As I'm totally behind the times and stuck in the past at the moment I could do with some new things to try :)

The idea is literally post what you've been listening to today/this week, what's #1 in your cd changer / mp3 player at the moment, and discuss.. Don't flood the thread with all your favourite songs as that will kill it, and let's not turn this into a discussion of whether the englebert humperdink entry to eurovision is good or bad.. ..because it awful

So to kick it off, this week I have mostly been listening to hit the floor by breakestra which I really like for cruising to work and back, and when I need to zone out and crunch some numbers at work for 1/2hr I've been putting on the awesome stories from the city, stories from the sea by pj harvey

I love my MashUp remixes, when they work.
Some out there are really good, some are terrible, but I love this one esp :
Depeche Mode Vs Phil Collins ( yeh, really !!!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBRGNo7XOAc

Also a lot of movie soundtracks, Tron by Daft Punk is a master piece:

and Transformers:

and I'll sign off with the best bit of surf guitar you'll hear this month, would love some recommendations to follow up on this.

If you fancy a bit of a good tune I like Marina And The Diamonds too. She's stunning, a great song writer, and Welsh. Result.

No album yet but massive underground following, people seem to think they will be huge.

btw, play it loud!
cheers, Mike.

And Maroon 5 'Moves Like Jagger' in our household. Although the lyrics get changed to 'Moobs like Jabba' which livens it up a bit...

Yup, forget about that one, not for family viewing though.

For similar reasons what about Benny Benassi - Satisfaction?
