Anybody know how much?
And Andy, you sure you don't want to change the 904 project to a 4 pot? Haha.

I wonder if they're any cheaper than this one currently on ebay with a starting bid of £150k :

Doesn't look that complicated when it's in bits.

Re: Brand new Carrera engine anyone?
I know this sounds a bit of a novice question and it is just a question. But the 4 cam Carrera engine wasn't exactly that user friendly even in when you bought the car new? Double overhead cams were on the design envelope in the late 50's early 60's.
As the engines are so expensive are they just making carbon copies to tap into the high value and rareity of the originals or will they make changes to make them more useable?

Re: Brand new Carrera engine anyone?
Looking closely at that photo, I don't see a set of 46IDA. Not exactly easy to find and loads of money. However. i guess they could use 48s instead.
Re: Brand new Carrera engine anyone?
It will be interesting to see how expensive they make this? The replica industry such as the 550 and 356 speedster means there isn't just a finite amount original cars to sell it to.

Re: Brand new Carrera engine anyone?
So it is cheaper than buying a real 4 cam but €100,000 more than an engine would cost to build?
