37 grand, should have sold it at auction boys. Someone has got the bargain of the century! I thought it would have went for a lot more.

Sellers are happy, buyer I'm sure is happy. Car is going to a good home and that was just as important to us as the price. The car is likely to stay in the UK! Brilliant.

Regards
Mike

I really thought it would have went for more Mike, I watched the auction for the last 15 minutes waiting for the telephone numbers to start appearing and nothing happened. Will be interesting to see what happens with the car now, hopefully not disappearing into the ether somewhere.

I am glad you are happy with the price Mike. I enjoyed your night at the TIPEC meeting at Bo'ness, at least the car is staying in the UK, hopefully the restoration will be documented somewhere as there are bound to be a few more surprises in there I would think.

Well if something else had not come up yesterday I'd probably have bid....but although this watch is not as rare as this car I can wear it tomorrow.

Hope the story continues here.

Still think it has long term potential to be absolutely mega money when restored

How do you restore this car now?
Is its value as a 'barn find 911 proto car hidden for years' etc car that its value is so much as an oddity?
As soon as you weld paint replate etc that truth has been lost?

I would have thought an auction house would have been better, but a good home, in the Uk and everyone is happy is a cracking result.

We can read all about it in Keith's periodical soon!

An interesting project.

Thought there might be some last minute bidding, but also think the final price was about right. There's a huge amount of time, effort and expense ahead.

Well done Mike & Brendan. I imagine you both enjoyed, firstly discovering the car, and secondly, the research you both put into it.

I concur, that was quite a ride... in a pretty rarified atmosphere. Nothing more fascinating than the private life of rare, early car.

The type of thing that enrichens a chaps life.

Congratulations with the result.

Flippin brilliant.

Mike
Thanks for hitting the nail on the head.

I told Brendan this has been the best Porsche experience ever for me. Chance meeting, discovery, detective work, thrill, the ride has been oh so worthwhile in every respect.

And Mike, for you the biggest thrill is yet to come. Trust me, I'm a dentist.

Regards
Mike
