Well the AK400 was MOT'd on Friday and I'm hoping to have it registered next week so thought I would finish off this thread.

Here's what we've been up to…..

The original plan was for the van to be painted in Light Ivory and sign written in company colours however fate had other ideas :?

I do think it looks great though finished in Citroen Rose Gris…

There's a fair bit of final detailing to do although it's looking great and drives superb

Alas the plan for this to be a company promotional vehicle and my daily driver ended when another DDK'er introduced me to friend of theirs and I was persuaded to let the van go. :crybaby:

My one comfort is that its going to a good home where it will receive the love, care and equally importantly, the use it deserves. :)

I'll post a few final photos when totally finished and wearing its new livery.

Cheers,
Mitch

Darren, it does look really superb and another testament to your excellent eye for detail and the skills of the guys working with you.
I'm really looking forward to seeing it in all its liveried glory and running around Bath; it'll certainly be well used as a daily driver 8)

Looks great Darren - there's only one (minor) thing I would have changed ... swapping the headlamps to the earlier round version.

- I've had a 'hankering' for an early 'corrugated bonnet' 2CV for some time now ...

I initially thought that Andy although have become quite fond of the square headlights and they are rarer 8)

I was actually quite upset after agreeing to sell the van and we do need a promotional vehicle for the business so thought I'd buy a replacement….

…no ripple bonnets but if you fancy a project I've now got a couple spare  ….

Thanks Jon,

I met a great guy called Gary who's been importing old Citroens for a number of years. I purchased an AZU he was selling and mentioned I would also like an AK350 and since then they've just kept coming, all original, unrestored wrecks 8) - I've had to tell him 'no more' now (unless something real nice comes along  ).

Gary truly is Citroen nuts, here's some of his collection and storage barn…

Actually the plan is to start marketing 2CV vans to businesses for promotional purposes - not something that will make any money, it'll just be a bit of fun :)

Is the metal on a 2cv thick enough for Barry to actually weld? ;)
