Here's the information I had as of 2008. The car mentioned had the registration UYY 34, of which many photos exist while Jenk's owned it. This is from a post on Atlas F1, Nostalgia Forum.
"I last saw what I was assured was Jenks' old 356 in 1979 at 'The Beetle People' in Princes Risborough, when it was owned by proprietor Tim Kemp. The car had by then been painted BRG by a previous owner and was in a pretty sorry state, with areas of the floor pan rotted out. It had a wind deflector on the bonnet and a Perspex copy in place of the original V-windscreen. I believe Tim took it with him, when he sold up and moved a couple of years later. I'd be most interested to know a) if it really was Jenks' old 356 and b) what has happened to it in the years since."

Just like you all I have been wondering what happened to Jenks' 356, as I am a big big fan of his writings. I just assumed that the battered, bruised and rotten out shell would have been scrapped. But then again: old porsches never really die....they get rescued.
On the other hand, his next car, a Jaguar E-type 4.2 convertible, was bought by a belgian (!) classic car dealer and features in his stocklist for a good number of years.

I met Tim Kemp a few months back, my dad sold him some wheels for one of his (Tims') VSCC cars. Nice chap in a massive LPG converted US Monster truck, now re-building Jaguar XK engines in Wales. He mentioned that he used to own Jenks' 356. So reading between the lines, he doesn't anymore. He still has a soft spot for the 356 Porsche though!

I had a restoration business in Mid wales in the late '80's/early '90's building C & D-Type replicas & restoring the occasional E-Type & used Tim for most of my engine machining/balancing jobs.

It's not my news to tell, so I'm not giving away any details, but Jenks 356 has recently changed hands. They're good hands and that's all I can say. I saw it in late September and although it is battered and bruised, it's not rotten, far from it. A fair bit of the car is in time capsule condition and well worn, but not messed with or modified, it doesn't look like it's ever striped, just repaired where necessary. Simon: I agree completely-no need to contact him now that we have updated info.
I am happy to hear that Jenk's Continental is in what appears to be good hands. Certainly, I hope to be able to see it being driven as Jenks would have (is that to the nines?), but even better to see it being driven as the new owner likes to drive.

As you seem to have a real interest in Jenk's car I have the original 'Motor Sport December 1955 edition, with the 4 page article written by him headed 'Porsche Motoring . Some reflections after 30,000 miles with a Damen'
Its well known the article over here and has been re-printed but maybe I could make a copy of it if you don't already have it. In his book 'Porsche 356' he refers to it as a 356A of course
its a pre-A but because he made so many changes including Carrera brakes I suppose for him it became the later version
