Lovely looking thing the McLaren M1a. Small-block Chevy engine (exhaust pipe layout gives it away) fitted in 1966 replacing the original Oldsmobile V8. You can almost hear it at wide-open throttle from here...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Found another being 'tested' by J Leno on a local to him airfield, all open, all dB everywhere.
Sometimes a ROAD registered one competes in hillclimbs....never washed in yellow, no driving lights.
I think Jonathan knows him well.

No - I can't even think of his name, but I do admire him for driving from London to Shelsley Walsh regularly in the McLaren in all weathers!

11/10 for that one. Such style from years gone by.
Wonder if the 'modern crop' of super special cars will be seen in the same way when we are all electric or whatever happens?
The Zagato Ferrari in this month's Octane is at a similar plane.

Bit like this Bertone Jet based on a DB4GT. Always loved it as it was in the factory at the end of its restoration when I was trusted to stand next to a technician working on it911hillclimber wrote:11/10 for that one. Such style from years gone by.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
I think it's a Cadillac series 70 as it had a v8 in it, which seemed lost in that massive engine bay. According to the story I wad told, it was given to Winston Churchill by Poland after the second World War.
