No DDk !!

Post by mycar »

Morning all, For the last 2 days I haven't been able to access DDk at home. Despite being connected to the Internet (wireless router) and having no problems with every other site, eBay, facebook, etc, etc, I get a server not found message when I search for DDk.
At the mo I'm on the phone with 3G and the forum works fine.
I don' t think this a problem with the new forum but can anybody suggest a solution.

Regards, Mike.

Ps, buggerinell, I've just tried posting this and the server cannot be found on 3G either..... Try again...

I think it's a dns issue

Bear with it I'm sure it will all sort itself out

I've had no problems today accessing through various platforms

Aaand I`m back too.

Brrrrr, no DDk for 3 days, that was horrible..... thought I was going to sell the cars and everything.

DNS server nonsense, nothing to do with new forum.... I think. Anyway switched to 8.8.8.8 and all is well.

Good job too, I was starting to get a bit tetchy over on the registry. :)

 Mike.

Me too. over the last week or so I often get the message "safari can't find website". Keep re-trying and eventually it opens.

Beginning to point at my router (Belkin) or my ISP (tiscali/talktalk or whatever they call themselves now) as both my PC (wired to the router) or my iPad (wireless) have the same problem at the same time and then 'cured' themselves at the same time too - helped by re-setting the router, or maybe that was just co-incidental. A bit of research suggests that talktalk have a 'history' with DNS addressing.

This is the first time I've been able to get onto DDK for about four days, tried at work, home, phone, computers, different browsers etc. The message was something like 'cannot find [web address] at this host or something like that. All other internet stuff had been working fine in the meantime. I thought the site had gone down, but couldn't find anything on other forums about it. I did miss you all. :)
