Funny enough I've never heard of the Locaris arch guards before. Up to now I've made my own in PE ones (similar to rally mud flat material) which have been great but take a lot of time to make an accurate pattern. I have patterns for 914 guards but not for my early 911. A couple of people have copied my 914 ones. Very interested if I can get some off the shelf for my '66 911 but would have preferred PE as they would be better with gravel and reduce noise. (I use both my cars on rallies with gravel roads) Are LWB guards exactly the same as SWB guards ? I see from the website that the claim the same parts for '65-'73. Just checking if this is correct.
Does anyone have a set of these arch guards for an early 911 that they would be prepared to allow me to take a paper pattern from to make some PE ones ?
Would just save me a lot of time and happy to offer them on here once I've done it.

Now I have a reliable daily drive I can get on with the jobs I have been putting off for some time.

Remove engine & box
Fit '74 spec ali trailing arms, new bearings, bushes etc
3.2 front brakes
Split and reseal gearbox
Fix reversing light plunger
Fit new clutch
Fit new clutch cable
Valve clearances
Front strut top mounts
Repair/refinish fuel tank

...plus all the other jobs I find "whilst I'm in there"

Should keep me out of trouble for the winter!

I used to have to work outside, that's why I moved up North

...and just to upset you further the garage is inside the house, and has the central heating boiler in the corner. I almost had to open the door last night to let some heat out

I meant to do most of these jobs last winter, but then we were supposed to be moving house just before xmas so I didn't want to take it apart. We then didn't move till April, so I needed to use it as transport and couldn't risk breaking it just prior to CLM!

So now this has arrived:

it's time to crack on.

Didn't quite get the arms built, just had time for a coat of paint.

Having seen the state of a set of unprotected arms can get to i.e scrap, I've decided to cover up all that ali in a coat of etch primer followed by some silver paint!

The set of arms I have are almost period to my car and in surprisingly good condition, hence all the paint to keep them like that:
