Automotive Valuer for Insurance - London

Post by chrisK »

Hi everyone,

I recently acquired an early Porsche (I am the lucky new owner of Charlotte's car, a 1968 911 2L ...!)

As the insurance value is greater than £20,000, I am asked by the insurance company to submit them a form filled in by an Automotive Valuer or Assessor or a Car club official.

Any good contact recommended by DDK?

thanks.

Hagerty was quite poor as the value of the car is too high for them and they are in fact uncomfrtable to provide insurance to a car located in London

so I went for classic line

fair enough but surprising as mine is insured with them for an agreed value thats q spicy and they didnt seem to blink, the only issue was it has to be garaged overnight

You should be able to get a valuation from Bootsy ...

Chris Turner in London maybe ? I was with classic line and very good - may be worth speaking to the broker who does your home insurance as i am with a company called chubb , and they now insure the 911 as part of the home policy , or at least the broker I use for other insurances asked them as I had buildings and contents with them - still needed to prove value though.

valuation for insurance

Post by The Minotaur »

I have insured my car with ClassicLine for the past 6 years, for a hefty value (last valued by Josh Sadler at Autofarm in 2008), and they have been excellent and very competitive.

I have just renewed with them and although my original valuation was just out of date, and the engine and car are in different locations (engine being rebuilt at BS Motorsport) they agreed to extend the valuation for two years without any fee or photographs. If I have a question or a problem I speak to Darren Coote, the Director, and have always received first class advice and customer service.

Knowing the car I'd be happy to do a report. I've done a fair few now and they have all been accepted. Pm me if you'd like me to do it.
