Good video, no messing about, and I think spot-on, especially for today.

Bought my 911 deliberately because it was a nasty basket case, I wanted a 'good weld' of a car as relief from a stupid job I had in automotive.
Back then a really good 911E was £8K, mine was £3K and cost a further £4K to get on the road and to my first hillclimb event.

Thanks Hugo. Really absorbing videos and good writing too. Rarely gets better than this. I like the concept of the ‘archaeology of automobiles’. It’s the thoughts and feelings I get when I switch between my 71 911t and 2001 996 GT3. If only I could’ve afforded to keep all my past Porsches!

Hello,
I have been enjoying these engine rebuild videos by Klassic Automotive Training and have learnt loads (admittedly coming from a very low knowledge base).

These videos of the E engine rebuild are superb.
Just watched #3, the cylinder head rebuild.

Utmost attention to detail, well worth the watch.

Cool video about LED headlight conversion, for H4's, obviously not to everyone's taste... :P

Great weekend of racing in-store at Sebring. 1000 miles WEC on Saturday. Followed by ISMA 12 hours Sunday. Ferrari took pole position in the WEC. Porsche 963 not really in the fight. 2 seconds off the pace in 6th.

This the largest LMP1, not, field for years. There are two types of cars in the top category. Hyper (choose chassis and engine) / Daytona (pick Chassis from a list / choose engine)

The LMP2 cars aren't far behind and must cost a fraction of the top category

Now the reversed baseball cap and laddish presentation may not be to everyone's taste, but this series of videos is a clear demonstration that where there's a will, there's a way! Buying a wrecked 992 GT3 sight unseen, all the way across the Atlantic, and then rebuilding it using genuine parts is pretty epic. Not sure what the value of the car will be after, but it's an interesting insight into the cost of parts, the reluctance of Porsche USA to sell them and how the GT3 is glued together...

I’ve discovered Mat Armstrong recently through the GT3 and I absolutely love him.

The grammar nazi in me flinches at some of his turns of phrase (“brand new second hand parts”) but his attitude to solving problems is brilliant and he freely admits to his cock-ups.

After watching the GT3 I’ve gone back and caught up on the M5, the Murcielago, the Cayman, and most recently the Aston. It’s quite a shock to realise that a number of these are running concurrently.

His filming/editing work is great and makes them an easy watch.

Good luck to him and I also recommend his videos
