What you all up to???

Post by mdmax72 »

Hi all,
hope you all had a great crimbo, and looking forward to the New Year????

Just wondering if anyone's doing any car improvments, or building one etc. Its seems quiet here on the replica side... Can't believe nobody's up to anything....

I'm still doing my suspension upgrade and fitting my new hood & frame (low-bow style) in between spending time with the wifee and kids, they seem to be winning at the moment. Any one got any tips on fitting /stretching the hood???

Hi all,

I've just fitted a new set of ignition leads to mine as the old ones were arcing out everywhere and the car was running like a pig! Now the new ones are on she's running lovely and smooth again!
Happy New year to you all and lets hope for a nice dry, hot and sunny 2011 for lots of day out roof down!

Ger
You don't need an MOT if your going the IVA route.
IVA first then Register it, you will be MOT free for 3 years.

Happy New Year

just today replaced a couple of bent pushrod tubes on my 1641 engine. They got damaged when I moved house recently. Also fitted the clutch ready for it to be reinstalled in the car if I ever get it back from the paint shop...

Now been promised it will be done by the end of Jan. Going in next week to add some pressure, as I'll be going along with a trailer!!! 7 months its been there for now. Seriously miffed about it.

Paul,
7 months is a bit of a concern, did you tell them to use it as a gap filler to keep your costs down??. Just make sure your body-shop is still sticking to the price you agreed. It's an awkward place your at cause you don't want to be going in like a bull in a china shop, just in case they rush yours through and make mistakes and you end up with something your not happy with and a relationship in tatters with the body-shop.

Good luck

Tell me about it Rich!

When it originally went in (July), Chad the chief at the time took too long over pretty much everything and was 'released' in october. The new guys came in and said it would be done by end dec but it wasnt (all gaps are now very good though). Now the undersealer they were told 3 cans would be enough now arent, and cos of the time of year more wont be in until this week. However I have asked them to complete bodywork this week ready for the remaining undersealer and priming by end of next week.

If enough progress has not been made this week, the car will be trailered back to mine.
