vw brakes ona 356B?

can it be done?
I wanna run cheap er than porsche brakes on my 356B
dont want to ruin those nice ali drums etc
also fancy running fuchs
as the king pins are interchangeable, is it possible to fit vw pin carriers and spindles?
what about the back end?
any solutions?

I bought a set of discs forto replace the 356 drums on my spyder. They used Astra pads and calipers. From memory about £400 for the front.

CSP also do wide 5 disc kits for 356 - Machine 7 sell CSP bits in the UK

I have the CSP front discs on my replica - fantastic quality, with CNC machined hubs.
They also introduced rear discs this year and i've just received a set to go on my car over the winter (note you need a master cylinder change for these).
Both front and rear discs are available for direct bolt-on to 356A and Bs.
Note they also do the hubs in the "modern" 5 bolt porsche pattern also, to suit fuchs.

do csp do a rear set up for 356b
havent seen this on there site
or is it the same as the VW set up??

Its a different version of the same kit as for VWs.
I just noticed, as you did, that although the instruction manual describes the 356 version, it is not listed for sale on the site.
From the instructions the 356 needs a slightly thinner spacer compared with VWs.
Perhaps its worth contacting CSP to find out about the availability of the 356 spacer/version?
Track change is 0mm for 356s. (-10mm for 68- IRS beetle, which is damn handy when your running 195/65 tyres that have only mm clearance)
