Hello There
Does any one know how the perspex hinged section on the door of a 911R
operated. Vic Elfords R had them.

Paul

Hello There
Thats great Chris I will be able to replicate them from your photos. Its important to get them right for historic rallying , there has been problems with slide windows fitted to post historic cars so I expect my rep will attract close scutiny. Thanks to everyone for there efforts.
Best Regards
Paul

Not to hijack the thread but what problems are there with sliders ( which I have in my rep) ? My car will not be used for anything other than sprints and hillclimbs and even then only very seldomly.

Will I upset any scrutineering neccesary ?

For historic rallying you need to demonstrate that these windows were fitted in period. You need a picture of Elford's car at the time

If you use the car in the British Historic Championship, Paul Loveridge will not allow sliders. He told us to remove them from a 1965 SWB a few years ago. It will be interesting to see what he has to say to psd111 when it gets presented at scrutiny.
In any other form of motorsport it doesn't matter. BHRC is PL's baby and we have to play by his rules. The Escort boys have had to remove exhaust tunnels even though they were period!

PL won't like them !!
Why not ? ... because your car is not an "R" ...... rally an R and you can use them (along with all the other bits) ..... that will be his logic (I won't say what I think of the logic :) )

PL wouldn't know an R (or what was in it) if it bit him ... just my opinion of course !

Hello There
I have built a R rep, before starting I spoke to Paul about the project and he told me as long as it is built as per period there is no problem. Personally I
have competed in over 45 HRCR historic rally's and allways found Mr Loveridge to be very fair and supportive.
