Contemplating buying a set of 'S' seats for my '72 911T from Nick Moss.
Stumbling block is - where do the seat belt anchorages fix?
As standard, my belt anchorage points are fixed to the seat/frame.

So, anyone with a '72 911 who has fitted these or similar seats - how did you resolve the seat belt anchorage points? Belts and anchors seem to change on a yearly basis, so needs to be year-specific please.

You might want to check if you have the pre-drilled mounting points on the chassis. They are on the inner sill and the center tunnel just behind the chair. This might enable you to re-fit them. I have an early 72 model 911E which had Recaros fitted and the anchor points were attached directly to the seats on the inner side as you described. But I noticed when I removed the carpet mounting points also on the chassis.

I believe you can also buy a seatbelt anchor point which will attach to the mounting plate for the replica chairs. Southbound comes to mind as selling one. I'd be suprised if Nick doesn't sell something similar.

The main issue with this set up is with height as the runners sit on top thus making the replica sport seats quite high. I would also ask about their (both deser and GTS) tilting frames as both were working on them and these may be more suitable as they allow the seat to sit lower in the car.

I have such seats with the runners/brackets supplied by déser. The mounting points are on both sides on the brackets. One can use ordinary mounting bolts with an insert keeping the plate for the betls free of movement. I will try to make a picture however my car is away for maintenance.

Off topic; the original brackets supplied by déser are quite high. Suitable for italian size (which is not my length). This is because of the bushes mounted between runners and bracket. I'm still up to make a project clearing the bushes out (which should be possible)

By the way, the seats are tremendous. IMHO better than original. I drove rallies with many hours behind the wheel, without any trouble.

Thanks for that Niels. Co-incidently I had aready found out the Deser can supply tilting frames with the requisite seat belt anchorages
Seats & frames now ordered - roll on Christmas

Those I have, excellent quality, slightly on the high side. I will post when I removed the bushes. By the way, I tried this summer through the Dutch liason of D'eser to retain a special made version without bushes. The Italians do not see the point to produce these (typical )

Following an introduction to Cesare at D'eser I bought direct (thanks domtomi).
Trouble free transaction, but there needs to be an element of trust from each party. Basically I sent money direct to D'eser's bank 'blind' and trusted D'eser to send me the seats and frames. Similarly D'eser had to trust me to pay up once the seats were made and before they were shipped. Well it all worked and the seats and frames arrived last week. Finally found time today to install.

Out with the old...


Fitted a new (to me) 380mm steering wheel whilst I was in there..


Then fitted the tilting frames...




Bad move - couldn't fix the seats to frames insitu so out came the frames

Seats and frames assembled on the floor and then fixed into car...




Seat belts fixed direct to the frames. All in all quite a 'breeze' of a job

Pictures do not do justice to the quality nor the colour of the new seats (which are leather, with corduroy inserts). Seating is little high (on the lowest setting) but I'm sure they will 'settle'

Only 3 problems to resolve now:
.. rest of the interior trim needs cleaning!;
.. need Bootsy to get his finger out with the bulk order of Cocomats;
.. carpets look a bit shabby now, so may have to replace them

Seats look great. Do you find them comfortable? Would be interested to get more feedback on them. What prompted you to go for the cord inserts and how do you find the that (vs say full leather)?

Only sat in them for 5mins so far, in the garage, so haven't yet got them in the 'right' position. It will be a while before the car ventures out i.e when the salt has gone! The seats are quite hard at the moment but I expect them to soften up with mileage.
I've had cord inserts before, in an RS rep that I once owned and I found the cord to be hard wearing, warm if it's cold and more 'grippy' - you don't slide around.
