Goodwood trackday

Post by 40 scout »

Stumbled into a Porsche trackday (poss PCGB ?) at Goodwood today whilst out giving my 356 a damn good thrashing.

Lots of GT 3's

A couple of Club Sports

A nice early S

and a great early RS

had a cuppa and watched from the deck on top of the pits - timed a few

GT 3 RS ----------1 min 42 secs (driven hard by the sounds of it)

Early RS ----------1 min 40 secs!

Surprised me anyway

Cheers

I can't convince myself that is an accurate record of the cars' performances!

How do you mean ? - Timed on my i phone from same position, by the pits.

I did it out of interest to compare to the motorcycles and St Marys cars I timed at Revival.

Driven hard in a straight line, or around the corners? A GT3 RS should be IRO 1:30, my old Carrera 2.7 used to do 1:40 on the old bumpy track.

Hi Nick

I thought the circuit may have suited the smaller car - that and a bit of difference in driver ability maybe :)

But it was a nice day, low numbers on track and they looked like they were enjoying it - what's a few seconds here and there

Apologies, I didn't mean the timing was inaccurate, I meant that the laps were not a reflection of the cars' capabilities

Steve, I know it's too late now, but there was quite a gathering of Indians down at Prescott last week end.

Nick Faure was lapping at 1.33 in Ants car, and I think I was about 3 secs slower than that.

Steve - those times were in mid August when the Baron ran the trackday downthere. Both times were in RS reps. Mine was the silver one, Ant running the white one with blue and red stripes, plenty of photos elsewhere re that day.

Whilst you guys were running on nice clean tarmac this what we were doing on the Regis Rally. We used Goodwood circuit for one test in the afternoon but this was in the grounds of Goodwood house.

I saw a Porsche coming out from under the tunnel as we left the circuit test and wondered what was on.

Took only 1.33 to get round Goodwood - which I thought was quite quick :)

And only 7 minutes for the RAC to arrive afterwards. Which I thought was even quicker...

Car back together now...just a whole load of mods to go in preparation for 2011. Can't wait
