CHARITY AUCTION - Porsche Experience day at Silverstone

Post by revival-cars »

CHARITY AUCTION: Porsche Driving Experience at Silverstone

*** Bidding ends Sunday September 12th at 8pm ***

OPC Hatfield/Porsche Cars have very kindly donated a half-day Porsche experience voucher for me to auction off in aid of the Mines Advisory Group http://www.maginternational.org

Payment from the high bidder will be made by way of a charitable donation to 'MAG', via my Justgiving donations page: www.justgiving.com/londontosaigon2010

The lucky winning bidder will receive..

A half-day 'Driving Experience' voucher. This entails driving a vehicle from the latest Porsche model range around their new Silverstone based test track.

The circuit simulates various road conditions, drivers receive professional instruction on the best way to tackle them - Scenarios include an icey hill, low friction road surface, off road etc.. Promises to be a great day!

http://www.porsche.com/silverstone

There are a few straight forward age & insurance related conditons, which I have attached at the end of the post. Please check through these before bidding.

Its a great cause, so please bid generously. Post-pub bidding is highly recommended! :drunken:

Finally, I'd like to say a huge thanks to Porsche Centre Hatfield for their very generous donation, thanks guys!

Anyone like to start the bidding at £30?...

thought I'd update this thread :)

Had my driving experience couple of days ago. It consisted of a 1/2 day one on one session on the Silverstone facility & I opted for a 997 C2S manual. Did the ice hill, the kick plate, the low friction circuit + quite a bit of time on their handling circuit.

Handed photo duties over to my wife  , so here is me out on the track ( I'm the little blue dot coming around the handling circuit )

Anyway, it was great fun sliding & spining :) & the 997 is a quick car.

Interesting ( for me ) to compare the 997 to other cars I have driven. Can't deny it's performance is fantastic, but it does lack the feel of the older cars. Don't think I could ever have one as a 'fun' car , and it doesn't meet my requirements for a daily driver either :(
