Thats a great project :P

Whats the spec'?

I live near the clay pidgeon circuit and have happy memories of running in old DAP engined 100 Britians ? rubbing high spots off the pistons with 400 grit !!!! I never raced since we couldn't afford it but it was nice helping my mates.

I fancied doing one of those for my boy as a father son project

Ooops, look out for the broken ankles, Graham :)

Drove a 100 cc race kart in Majorca once, it was a Heck of a thrill compared to the FF1600 I was running at the time :)

Look forward to seeing some action shots
Cheers

Mike

The kart is a cracker:

Barlotti kart, about 1976.
Hydraulic discs and a real Villiers 11E engine with some tweeks inside.
4 speed box. Carb is a rare Mikuni slide throttle instead of the Amal.
Almost all original except for the seat mounts and the seat and the tank and the floor, but the rest is true!
It does actually run and does actually work so should not be too hard to do.
There is more than the cosmetic side (gold Hammerite everywhere) such as the front calipers (super rare Appleby ones) have bolts in the place of nipples = stripped threads, so some gentle restoration needed.(etc)

I have a mound of tyres and spare rims (8'' at the rear!).

Plan is to do the whole thing for a £1000 and demo/race it in Historic meetings such as Classic Silverstone as a bit inbetween the hillclimbs.

Should be straight forward compared to the Lola Porsche! :albino:

That looks great, well done.
Now how about a video hooning around annoying your neighbours
