Now sold - SWB 912 for sale

Now sold

Ok, so, sadly, but kind of happily i guess i may well have found a flat i wish to purchase. In order to make the process a whole let less financially draining i could really do with selling this car.

Bought 2 and half years ago from the man that imported it from California, it has been on uk roads for around 3 years, and has been garaged every day of its life over here, by both owners.

The car is a late 1966 (Nov 7th register) 1967 model, swb, 5 dial dash, 5 speed box, with the factory sports suspension including uprated anti roll bars and koni shocks, it would appear this was a well specced '12, finished in lovely irish green, the original colour, inside and out.

Its MOT is up at the end of April, but i can stick a fresh ticket on if it bothers the new owner, it has sailed through each MOT during my ownership.

The previous owner had reciepts for around £1-£2k i think (will double check) including new ball joints, a new distributor and some other bits and bobs. I also have a folder containing receipts from its stateside life, but by no means is there a full documented history.

Since i have had the car it has been looked after by Maxed Page and Prill, and more recently Max at Revival cars, feel free to phone max about the car.

For the last two years i have over £2k of reciepts for a complete new charging system which included some rewiring, new battery, new generator, new regulator etc etc. I have also had new pads, new discs and new callipers fitted at the front, as well as a couple of full services including oil, filter, gearbox oil changes, brake setup, carb balance, timing etc etc as the above mark specialists. I have also had the locks and window mechanisms rebuilt and oiled etc etc.

The car has broken down on two occasions under my possession, both times electrically related, hence the entire overhaul, it not runs like clockwork, and since then has never let me down at all or given me any coarse for concern.

There is no rust, and i mean no rust, the car is bone dry. I, and all other people who have seen and worked on the car can see no evidence of any crash damage or any welding at all on the car. It is very clean, very straight, no bubbles in the paint anywhere.

The is a mark on the engine lid lip, there is a couple of marks on the boot lip, and sadly at one point the bonnet was lifted up slightly over enthusiastically which has marked the paint in the front scuttle, i will try to take pics, but again i can get this sorted if a problem, was always on my to do list. There is also a small stone chip on one wing, i do mean small. All the rest is mint and straight, i can find no filler and the paint is lovely.

The dash is lovely and uncracked, i guess the steering wheel could do with being refurbed if very fussy. There is also a split in the driver seat, but its nothing major.

The headliner is mint, unripped and clean.

There is a period Blaukpunkt radio fitted and a good modern stereo/cd player in the glove box.

The engine pulls very strong and starts on the button hot or cold, its is well set up and tuned offering good power and economy. It does leak some oil, and i guess at some point could probably do with the rear main oil seal replacing (a guess), but its never bothered me too much, and has never got any worse.

The syncro in 2nd is starting to get a little tired, but is fine once warmed up.

It sits ever so slightly dropped on original early (i think, i was told by a true buffer, but am not expert) period fuchs, if anyone wants close pics to fully identify, thats not a problem, also on the correct profile tyres.

This car is not concours, but a very, very tidy straight example and i am happy enough to pull up in at any porsche events.

Its been the best car i have ever owned and i will be very, VERY sad to see it go. Everywhere i go people fall in love with it and give me truly lovely comments.

I will let the photos tell you the rest, any questions please ask away.
