Hi,

We have just made a batch of RSR style lightened flywheels. These can be used on cars from 1970. These are not machined original flywheels but brand new made from high grade materials and CNC machined.

These offer a quicker low end response due to the reduced weight around the flywheel.

Price is currently £200 plus VAT,

PS. we are making these in both 6 and 9 bolt configuration and also further investigating removing a few more grams.

Alan, it might be an idea to give standard plus Canford flywheel weights?

Very nice machining, it's amazing what a 'proper' machinist can acheive

Very pretty. Alan, I drove a carrera 3 with an RSR clutch and lightened flywheel on the road. It was very "on/off".

What effect on a road car would your flywheel do in combination with a standard clutch? Lightened flywheel would make the engine spin up quicker I understood, but would it still be "driveable" in traffic jams and commuting 35mph traffic?

Hi,

Thanks for the idea Barry, our flywheels are weighing in at (the one in the pic) is 2977 grams, approx 1kg lighter than the original.

Patrick Motorsport also sells a very nice RSR style flywheel and those are a similar weight in at 2925 grams.

These flywheels can be used with a standard clutch (ally pressure plate rather than steel if possible) and would add a more"Responsive" feel to the car and thus a nice/simple upgrade on a standard motor. Changing the flywheel on a standard motor would be a nice upgrade, but the ultimate benefits are when combined with cams, pistons etc.
